Peak Performance 2024
Peak season is the ultimate stress test for any freight provider. From October to December each year, the freight industry experiences its busiest season: shippers are responding to high consumer demand around the holidays and accommodating key shopping days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This puts increased pressure on the best in the freight business to prove what they’re made of.
This year, our Peak performance was some of our best yet, delivering bigger, better results for our partners and customers.

Peak 2024 in numbers
In 2024’s Peak season, we delivered better results than ever before. Here’s a closer look at how we raised the bar during Peak Period 2024.

More deliveries
We nearly doubled the number of Peak deliveries as compared to last year’s performance, with 1.6 times the number of deliveries year-on-year.
More often
Throughout Peak, our team delivered an order every two minutes, around the clock.
Without slowing down
We didn’t let our progress affect our efficiency: in Peak 2024, we achieved over 96% on-date delivery.
LTL vs. FTL performance
We couldn’t be more proud of our overall performance throughout Peak Period 2024. In particular, our LTL services scaled up at pace throughout the season.
LTL performance
Throughout Peak, we achieved 97% on-date pickup/delivery for our LTL deliveries. Year on year, the number of orders we delivered increased by 159%, with nearly 25,000 orders completed.
FTL performance
Our FTL on-date pickup/delivery rate was 96% throughout Peak, with the number of orders completed rising 156% compared to 2023.
Scaling without losing efficiency
2024 was a monumental year for Amazon Freight. We launched LTL shipping in Germany, introduced Drop and Hook services, and rolled out new features to make our customers’ shipping journeys smoother. Here at Amazon Freight, we’re completely customer obsessed, and each product and service that we introduce moves us closer to our goal of providing our customers with the best possible freight experience.
Drop and hook shipping
Our drop and hook services allow us to improve efficiency throughout supply chains. It saves customers’ time, protects goods from damage risk by reducing handling, and helps us reduce empty miles for the environment.
Edit shipment feature
A new edit shipment feature enables shippers to amend their full truckload bookings. They can change their pickup number, purchase order number, total shipment value, shipper reference number, and more.
Automatic credit approval
Waiting for credit limit approval can be a significant pain point for our customers and can disrupt orders from reaching their destinations on time. Our auto credit approval feature allows our partners and customers to start shipping faster.
No matter the season, we are always investing in cutting edge technology, sustainability initiatives, and customer-focused product launches to future proof and improve our operations. In particular, we rely on these investments throughout the Peak season to provide customers with even better service than the year before. We challenge ourselves to exceed our own year-on-year performance and strive for constant improvement in our service.
Gearing up for 2025
Throughout all the challenges and wins of the 2024 Peak period, we loved helping our customers navigate their shipping needs. We’re looking forward to another memorable year of delivering quality for our customers.
